For months now, rumors have surfaced concerning whether or not former President Trump is going to give the White House another shot. Trump’s supporters are all for him running and believe he should be back in the Oval Office.
However, many people who dislike the former president are against him making another White House run. Trump critics often brand him as a danger to democracy and believe he’s got no business ever being in power again.
Detractors of the former president likewise hold the view that he’s a lot less powerful in the GOP than he used to be. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a member of the January 6 committee, expressed this view recently, per The Hill.
Kinzinger on Trump Losing Relevance
Days ago, the Illinois Republican told ABC News that people who were once very enthusiastic supporters of the former president are growing tired of him. Kinzinger claimed that he specifically has heard of this.
Later, he told ABC News that he feels Republican voters are ultimately going to shift more in favor of people like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

After reiterating that Trump is losing relevance, Kinzinger likewise predicted that within a few years’ time, finding someone who still backs the former president will be tough. The GOP congressman also suggested that Trump support is something people will ultimately be ashamed of.
This is not the first time Kinzinger has sounded off against Trump. The Illinois Republican has been adamant that the former president is a danger to the GOP, to America at large, and shouldn’t have access to power in this country.
The January 6 Committee
Former President Trump has argued the January 6 committee has a vested interest in gaining power and ultimately taking him down. The former president expressed as much during his recent rally in Arizona.
In previous statements, Trump’s also warned that Kinzinger and other members of the January 6 committee are intentionally refusing a full investigation of all details surrounding the events at the Capitol last year.

Later this year, the January 6 committee is going to continue holding various hearings, allegedly stemming from new information being relayed to them.
To Americans who don’t trust the committee, these investigations are viewed as tools to possibly influence the midterms or otherwise have a say in whether Trump is a candidate during the 2024 presidential election.
Finally, Kinzinger’s remarks come as the January 6 committee remains adamant that Trump facilitated and encouraged the riots at the Capitol for his own political gain and prominence.
