If you’ve ever been to Portland, you may have noticed the city’s streets have become littered with garbage. With so many people just living on the sidewalks, you’d think you entered the capital of some third-world country.
Unfortunately, Democrat-run Portland is still in the US and here to stay. Even though activist groups battling this growing issue do exist, they’re only making matters worse with their approach, which has received criticism from hundreds of the city’s residents.
Left-leaning activists promoting homelessness in Portland, instead of trying to put an end to it
Among them is Kevin Dahlgren, a drug counselor working on solving the city’s homelessness problem.
He argued the tents these “activists” place on the streets are only encouraging people to stay there, rather than trying to get their lives together.
According to a homeless woman in Portland, Oregon, Americans have NO INCENTIVE to join the workforce in Democratic-run cities: “It’s a piece of cake…you get three meals a day and don’t have to do anything…wake up, eat, get high, repeat." Take a listen:pic.twitter.com/uqR5e1bT5s

Dahlgren’s work has moved mountains when it comes to aiding Portland’s homeless community. He believes the system that’s supposed to act as a remedy is as dysfunctional as they come, mainly due to how it tries to solve the issue at hand.
Despite the state of Oregon having one of the highest homelessness rates in the country, those from the community that is interviewed often confirm there’s no real permanent solution they’ve ever been offered.
More often than not, it’s nothing more than a blanket or a tent.
It’s almost as if the Democrats want the homeless out on the streets, instead of helping them recover. It’s even more evident by the fact that the nonprofit groups keep handing out syringes, pipes, and naloxone.

Being homeless was never this easy
One of the main things that keep driving homelessness rates through the roof is that it often goes hand in hand with addiction. These groups’ actions, which they call “harm reduction,” have done little to address the root cause of the problem at hand.
Instead of offering the homeless community a chance at sobriety or recovery, they’re actually giving them the means to continued use, even though it’s a person with poor critical thinking skills.
Dahlgren can’t help but think this to be inhumane of the city’s nonprofits. They’re enabling the homeless community, instead of helping them get their life back on track, which they can’t do on their own.

A woman interviewed by Dahlgren claimed that homelessness in Portland is a “piece of cake” and it’s nothing more than an ‘eat, get high, sleep, repeat’ kind of process, which is probably why there are so many people out on the city’s streets.
However, the damage has already been done. Portland’s families are moving out, one after another, because of the record-breaking crime rates and the number of homeless people they encounter on their daily commutes.
It’s just not a sight that’s particularly enjoyable; the fact that the city is doing nothing about it is even more demoralizing.
