In a statement issued on Monday, State Department spokesman Ned Price reiterated his appeal for the release of retired Marine Trevor Reed from a Russian jail, expressing worries about Reed’s health.
A police officer was reportedly assaulted by Reed, who was captured in 2019. Reed was sentenced to nine years in jail in 2019.
The parents of Trevor Reed, a 30-year-old former US Marine detained in Russia, says the White House has not reached out to them despite saying 3 weeks ago it'd try to set up a meeting with President Biden.

Authorities and Reed’s parents have been pushing for his release, while the United States labeled his incarceration as “unfair and unconstitutional.”
Reed, according to a family representative on Monday, is being treated in a jail hospital for indications of TB and has lost a significant amount of weight.
“We are alarmed by news that Trevor Reed’s health is worsening,” said the organization.
According to Price, “we will not stop calling on Russian authorities to provide sufficient medical treatment quickly, or else release him to the United States so he may get the care he needs.”
Update on Trevor Reed
Trevor Reed weighed 136 pounds when he was admitted to the prison hospital, according to a statement from Trevor Reed’s parents, Joey and Paula Reed.
They said he was 160 pounds as he embarked on his journey to Russia. The parents have urged the Biden regime to act quickly to prevent their son from dying or suffering life-altering injuries.
Rep. McBath has released his first television advertisement for his midterm election campaign. McCarthy earns $31.5 million in the first quarter of the year.
Trevor Reed’s family say they met with President Biden today. “He listened intently to everything we had to say until we were through talking. We couldn't have asked for more," Reed’s father said afterward.

“We will continue to do all in our power to ensure that Trevor Reed, along with all others who have been wrongfully detained across the globe, are connected with their families,” he said in conclusion.
Reed’s parents met with President Joe Biden last week after holding a rally outside the White House to call on the government to do more to help their son. Reed was born with Down Syndrome.
According to White House press secretary Jen Psaki, during their meeting, President Biden “reiterated his goal is to continue working to secure the release of Trevor and Paul Whelan, as well as other Americans who have been wrongfully detained in Russia.”
Biden’s also supposedly committed to releasing Americans detained in “other countries, as well as providing all reasonable help until they and many others are free and brought back home to their families who have been lobbying so passionately for their release.”
Biden’s approval rating is quickly dwindling, due to the fact he has been dropping the ball when it comes to the Ukraine Russia war.
Staunch Democrats who earlier praised Biden as the bridge of unity are now turning their backs on him for his lack of leadership skills.
Biden and Harris’ re-election chances get lower and lower each day they are in office and even some of the biggest Democrats are wishing President Trump was in the White House once again.
