Sentencing Disparities at Department of Justice
The report reveals stark differences in how the Biden Justice Department treated defendants based on their views. Pro-life defendants faced an average requested sentence of 26.8 months compared to 12.3 months for pro-abortion defendants. Pro-life defendants ultimately received an average sentence of 14 months, while pro-abortion defendants served only three months on average. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who chairs the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias, stated that no American should fear federal punishment for their faith.
Civil Rights Division Sidelined Christians
The Civil Rights Division under President Biden published materials suggesting Christians could not be victims of religious discrimination, reserving that status only for other faith groups. The report also uncovered text messages between two Biden DOJ prosecutors who later worked with Jack Smith. Molly Gaston wrote she would like a special assignment finding and prosecuting Catholic nuns, while her colleague responded with agreement, adding a desire to prosecute nuns who wear traditional habits.
