Newsom’s 2028 Dream BLOCKED—Harris Problem Erupts

California Governor Gavin Newsom faces a formidable obstacle in his 2028 presidential ambitions: the unwavering loyalty of black female voters to former Vice President Kamala Harris. Despite her 2024 loss, Harris commands over 92 percent support among black women—the Democratic Party’s most reliable voting bloc—creating a political minefield for any challenger.

The Numbers Tell the Story

Harris secured 92 percent of black female voters in 2024, exceeding Joe Biden’s performance with this demographic. While she lost every swing state and underperformed Biden among most groups, black women stood firm. The Los Angeles Times reports that major 2024 donors show little enthusiasm for funding another Harris campaign, with several explicitly declining support. Yet this donor reluctance may prove irrelevant given her grassroots strength.

Why Newsom Stayed Silent

Newsom privately believed Biden lacked capacity for reelection but refused to challenge Harris publicly. He understood that black female voters would view any white male candidate trying to block Harris as both sexist and racist. Political commentator Sophia Nelson, writing in TheGrio, captured this sentiment: black women feel Harris receives unfair criticism while serving as the Democratic Party’s most loyal supporters. Nelson’s article questioned why Harris bore blame for Biden administration dysfunction despite delivering crucial votes.

The 2028 Calculation

Any Democrat challenging Harris risks alienating black women, who view criticisms of her speaking style and demeanor as coded attacks. Harris dropped hints about another presidential run, and while polls currently favor Newsom, political insiders recognize the danger of crossing this voting bloc. The situation presents a strategic dilemma: donor money flows toward Newsom, but grassroots Democratic primary voters may punish candidates perceived as undermining the first black female vice president’s second chance at history.

  1. Loyalty should be based on the best candidate not race based politics. Will the voters ever learn this valuable lesson?

  2. I thought black women were coming up in the world. This proves me wrong. They are voting for her because she is black. She hasn’t got a brain and only speaks in world salad. The women cant string a sentence and will destroy California mote than it is already. Personally I wish the Demoncrap part of California would fall in the ocean and take Kamala with it along with Newscum.

  3. Voting race instead of supporting those who actually promote political stability for our nation is senseless.
